Kersava, France - after travelling for two days

on Monday, 3rd August 2009 - 12:06

We left Galway on Friday around 5:30pm (okay, attempted to leave Galway but was stuck in traffic for 1 hour). Left Galway at 6:30pm with the car packed to the brim (my motto: leave nothing behind! which Steph had taken literally) and arrived at the Sunyata Retreat Centre in Clare, 2 hours later. Steph attended an evening meditation session of "Cultivating the Heart" led by Ajahn Thitameda and Ajahn Upekha while I got an early night's sleep.

I just received my own personalized business cards for Ahasae Tharu Publishing! I tried out the service by Moo.com and was not disappointed. See the picture for the result.

Road trip to Loire-Atlantic/France and back...

on Sunday, 9th August 2009 - 9:23

The latest trip was a two day road trip to Beaupreau (East of Nantes) to visit some of Steph's friends (Jon, Caro, Mathew (titi) & James (mimi)). We of course visited Steph's aunt Cecile and family (Xavier, Myriam, Neil, Maxim, & Nat) in their summer campground (Tregunc) and I enjoyed my first french BBQ.

Road trip to Nantes and back!

We made it into the local paper!

on Tuesday, 11th August 2009 - 8:25
So here are some pictures of the little chapel of Kernoues. We were there in the morning for the Pardon (see newspaper photograph) where I got to carry the flag. Steph is behind carrying a flag. You can only see our backs but it's cool that we made it into the newspaper.

Tilling the soil, the old-fashioned way!

on Tuesday, 11th August 2009 - 13:28

Today we got to experience watching the all-France champion farmer tilling the soil in one of the fields with his prize thoroughbred Breton plowing horses (They're so fat and stocky!). In other news, it was a beautiful day in Brittany!

In Italy

on Thursday, 20th August 2009 - 8:56
At the moment in Ravenna, Italy. Enjoying the various gourmet delights as well as the mosaics. We started our trip in Paris and took a train to Milan. Enjoyed a night gelato while enjoying the facinating Duormo and Gallaria in Milano and one night of rest before heading straight down to Ravenna via Bologna - where we stopped for lunch enroute. So far, one mistake was camping in such heat! But otherwise, had a full course meal last night of fish - still full from it in fact! Will update again with photos when time suits - otherwise, next month when back in Paris!
