It's been awhile!

That said, life with baby Kiran has been busy and eventful.  Since my last post, Kiran has had many firsts.  His first visit to Toronto (via car - a normally 9 hour journey taking 16 hours).  His first visit to France and flight via airplane.  His second visit to Toronto and his first really really bad cold/sore throat.  He's now suffering through his first earache - possibly as a result of the previous cold/sore throat and taking antibiotics.

Settling into the routine (if one can call it that) of the waking, feeding, changing, sleeping, eating, and repeat.  I never could sleep once the sun is up - so am extremely happy for having set up a very dark nursery where I can catch up on sleep if necessary in the mornings.

Our little Kiran finally came out - with much difficulty and a lot of help!  I ran to 42 weeks and 1 day delivering him on the 7th of January following an induction two days earlier.  One note to the wary - don't use castor oil in conjunction with anything else as an inducer!  Not only does it give you the runs but it also leaves you majorly dehydrated!

In Toronto for a week for two weddings and had the pleasure of attending my very own Baby Shower hosted by my family and friends!  Had a really good time and couldn't believe how packed the house was with various friends, kids, and family members!  Thank you to everyone who came or sent wishes and a HUGE thank you for all the gifts.  I must admit that I was so overwhelmed at the thought of bringing together things for this little life that is joining ours...

First blog post from the wee little Netbook!  Keyboard isn't bad.

I'm in the process of compiling my list of "must haves" for when our little bundle of pooping, drooling, joy falls into our laps.  I felt the need to comment on the availability and usability of various online registries.  In this case, the obvious ones of Babies R'Us vs. Amazon.com (joint with thebump.com).

We found out several months ago that we were pregnant!  Actually, Steph was at a conference at the time and I remember sending the picture of the pee-stick during a skype conversation.  The look of happiness on his face was priceless.  Unfortunately his roomate had just walked in because he couldn't blurt out what was in his thoughts.
